After Melisandre (Carice van Houten) was seen talking to Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) in “Game of Thrones” Season 7, fans hadn’t seen a glimpse of her anymore. However, she can be expected to return in “Game of Thrones” Season 8 as she told the eunuch that she will die in that country like him.
“I will return, dear Spider, one last time,” the Red Priestess told the Spider. With that, there is a new popular theory that she will return with a new company that might give a great help in the coming Great War.
The Fiery Hand’s coming
Melisandre is said to be going to Volantis.
In the book, “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George R.R. Martin, which the series is based on, it is the place where the Fiery Hand is located.
The Fiery Hand is an army composed of exactly one thousand warriors whose duty is to protect the Lord Of Light’s temple called Temple of R’hllor.
As a lot of the red priest and priestesses believe that either of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is the Azor Ahai or the Prince that was Promised, their army is more willing to head to Westeros to help them fight against the Night King and the White Walkers.
The Fiery Hand might be the surprising addition to Jon and Dany’s soldiers while facing the army of the dead. This, too, could be Melisandre’s redemption after the blows she had in the past few episodes.
The flaming swords
Although the television show’s executive producers David Benioff and D. B. Weiss are yet to introduce the Fiery Hand and the Volantis to their viewers, the two have been mentioned a couple of times in the series.
Even if Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) soldiers are not going to help Jon and Dany in the Great War, as she has another plan against them even after she agreed to the truce, the Lord of Light’s army might be enough to bring the Night King and his dead army down.
Their flaming swords and the warriors' ability to bring someone to life may be enough for them to survive the upcoming epic battle.
The questionable offer
To recall, Cersei revealed her real plan in joining the Great War to her brother Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
This really made the Kingslayer disgusted and it made him see her true colors, so he decided to leave her behind.
This also made some fans question Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) about what kind of a deal he offered the Queen of Westeros to agree with the truce.
“Game of Thrones” season 8 is expected to be released in 2018.
