“It was just getting a little weird for us with all the romantic questions,” Fergie said in an interview with People.
While promoting her new album, the 42-year-old star cleared that she and her 44-year-old ex-husband are great friends and still in love with each other.
But, they both came to the point that things got “little weird.” They, too, equally believed that there was no perfect time to reveal the truth about their romance, so they decided to announce what really was happening between them.
It was just last week that the former couple announced their separation after being married for eight years. Josh Duhamel and Fergie worked hard to keep their separation a secret in order to give their family the proper time to adjust before they decided to announce it to the public. Now, everything has been revealed.
“We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family,” they said. Fergie and Josh Duhamel have a 4-year-old son named Axl Jack.
The life Fergie is going to take after the split
In the same interview, Fergie revealed that she wanted to deal with her family and their life away from the spotlight after the split.
“We just wanted to get adjusted in private,” she said. In fact, Axl’s school is a big help for them as they have a co-op that would allow them to visit before the school year starts.
This, too, will provide ways for them to learn how their child reacts after their split while being surrounded by his friends. Fergie and Josh got married in January 2009.
The difference in lifestyle
A lot of fans are left heartbroken with Fergie and Josh Duhamel’s unexpected split.
However, some friends close to the two revealed that it was not actually a surprise.
In fact, some of them were really expecting to see the ex-couple go their separate ways for a long while now.
A source revealed to Us Weekly that the two have very different lifestyles. The “Transformer” actor is just a pretty normal guy while the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” hitmaker wants to have the grand Hollywood celebrity lifestyle. “They just grew apart,” the insider said.
