Arizona native Evie Clair is officially confirmed to perform in the “America’s Got Talent” Grand Finals after previously announcing her exit because of her father’s death, My News LA reported. She will join the other nine finalists who are slated to vie for the title and prize.
Clair’s father Amos Abplanalp died of colon cancer on September 7th, and the funeral was held at Mesa Cemetery with his family members attending the ceremony. The 13-year-old singer took to social media to share her final memories with her father.
She shared how her dad taught her to be religious and faithful, adding that she also learned how to dance the salsa with him.
Her official Instagram profile featured photos of the singer together with her dad.
Show cliffhanger
Fans were surprised when “America’s Got Talent” finalist Evie Clair announced that she might not be able to perform in the grand finals episode. One of the judges of the show, Simon Cowell relayed this information to entertainment news show Extra.
“We reached out to the family and [Evie Clair] and said, ‘It is your choice whether you want to come on the show or not,” Cowell told Extra. The show is willing to welcome her back if the young singer decides not to grace to finals, and come back in the next season, he added.
However, she is set to perform Tuesday night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Her mother Hillary Abplanalp told My LA News that her daughter has finally decided to compete in the “America’s Got Talent” finals.
She added, “We are happy to be back in Los Angeles with the remaining cast, crew, and staff who have become like a second family to us.” The grand finals of “America’s Got Talent” will be a two-day show, with a performance night on September 19 and results night on September 20th.
Finale show
Evie Clair won in each round of the competition. She caught the attention of the judges when she dedicated her audition performance to her late father. The performance was her own version of Christina Perri’s “Arms.”
The top 10 finalists vying for the title include singers Mandy Harvey, Chase Goehring, Darcy Lynne Farmer, Kechi Okwuchi, Angelica Hale, Mike Yung and Clair.
Dance groups Light Balance and Diavolo are also joining the finals. Furthermore, dog act Sara and Hero and comedian Preacher Lawson are also gearing up for the final competition.
The hit reality talent show is hosted by Tyra Banks. Judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum will help pick a winner. It must just be Evie Clair.
