The actor reacted to promotion for the vote
According to E! News, actor Brandon Flynn voiced his opinions about the ongoing situation in Australia surrounding gay marriage.
Same-sex marriage is currently illegal in Australia though attempts to change this are being made. An unknown individual paid a skywriter to write the words "Vote No" in the sky over Sydney as an act against attempts to equalize marriage rights in the country.
Flynn noticed this on his news feed and stated as a member of the LGBTQ+ community he was incredibly disheartened to see the lengths that some people go to deny other's their rights. The actor said that he and many of his friends were often scared growing up because of this kind of behavior. The star claimed that he had to watch too many of his friends kicked out of their homes only because they were living their authentic lives.
In a report by Digital Spy, it appears that the actor had some inspiring words for his fans.
He stated that equality takes courage, and has said that these ongoing acts of hatred towards the LGBTQ+ community are simply showing fear and not strength. The actor told his fans to remain strong, and that equality would win overall.
Flynn did not clarify his sexual orientation
Fans were delighted to see that Brandon Flynn was stepping forwards and standing up for the LGBTQ+ community on such a public platform.
They have showered the actor with love and support. However, some people have called out Flynn for not directly addressing his sexual orientation.
