Award-winning artist Zayn Malik has done a number of musical performances, earning him a strong fan base around the world. From his days as member of the group One Direction to his solo career, he did not stop perfecting his craft.

In his recent video interview with Vogue, the 24-year-old singer of English-Pakistani descent opened about his anxiety issues. Zayn Malik has previously revealed about his anxiety back in 2016, according to website Socialite Life.

“Personally, I am not a very outgoing and social person. In terms of big groups of people, it’s been a year since I’ve properly shown my face,” the singer shared in a recent video interview shared on YouTube.

Aside from his musical performances, Malik has also appeared in quite a number of television shows such as "Dancing With The Stars," "Glee" and "The Voice Kids," according to his IMDb profile. He has also received nominations several times in the MTV music video awards.

Solo career

Fans around the world were surprised when Zayn Malik withdrew from One Direction, the band that launched him to fame.

Two years ago, speculations came in after Malik officially left the band. These rumors included internal problems with the band, personal issues and more. Entertainment Online and other media outfits published the reports with his band mates reacting to his withdrawal.

Despite these, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan reportedly stated right after Zayn’s leave, that they will continue recording their albums, and performing in concerts.

"We’re sad to see Zayn leave, but we respect his decision and send him all the love in his future career. The past five years have been amazing,” his band mates stated in the Entertainment Online report.

Anxiety issues

After he left One Direction, reports stated that Malik has been called “over-arrogant person” and “full of himself.”

Now that he has made clear of his anxiety issues, he also pointed out that this is one of the reasons why he left the group.

Socialite Life reported him saying that he refuses show himself as a person who “takes himself too seriously.”

“I am not pretentious or I am not saying that I am going to change the world. I feel like I’m a voice among millions,” he said in the report. “I always feel like I am working on these issues and certain subjects.”

This is not the first time he opened up about his anxiety. The report further noted that he opened up about this struggle back in 2016, a year after he disbanded from One Direction.
