“Supergirl” season 3 will be arriving in October and The CW prepared lots of things for the upcoming show. The new season is set to introduce new castings, new stories, and a new Kara Danvers.

Melissa Benoist, who plays the lead role Kara Danvers (a.k.a. Supergirl), will have the only evolution that we would not want to happen. In the recent trailer, it seems like Supergirl will be a grumpy National City superhero. As viewers must all know, Kara just came from a decision of letting Mon-El (Chris Wood) in order to save the world. In Season 3, this decision will slowly sink in.

The pain and consequences will take place in the series.

Bada** women in Season 3

The big bad for this season is Reign, who will be played by Odette Annable. She was described as one of the world’s renowned killers. According to Digital Spy, it was never Reign’s aim to rule the earth. Meanwhile, Annable shared that viewers must expect many emotional moments from Reign. She adds that her role is a perfect match for Kara. Benoist confirmed this by saying Reign and Supergirl are very much alike in many ways – strength, power and more.

Moreover, Benoist also explained that she is kind of worried for Kara Danvers. This is because the battle will be like Supergirl fighting against herself. Katie McGrath will also return in the series to reprise her role as Lena Luthor.

While she may be Kara Danver’s best friend, Lena is set to showcase a significant participation in season 3. She will be having a connection to Reign. New “Supergirl” showrunners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller described Lena as a ticking time-bomb waiting to explode.

In addition, Calista Flockhart returned for the third season after stepping away from being a series regular last year.

It was confirmed that Cat Grant will reappear in the premiere episode. "Calista is in the first episode this season and the way that they integrated her in is so brilliantly clever,” Benoist said.

The men in Supergirl’s life

As for Mon-El, Chris Wood said his character’s return will bring a new dimension to the series. He is also positive that this new dimension will bring happiness to the viewers.

On the other hand, showrunner Rovner pointed out how Kara’s father is still a part of the series. Dean Cain, who portrays Jeremiah Danvers, is free to come back as he pleases. Lastly, David Harewood seems happy because Miss Martian will be coming back for J’onzz. Watch out for more upcoming updates of “Supergirl” Season 3.
