Summer is indeed a great time to watch Horror Movies but this year, the release of several popular and classic horror movie franchises will be extending in the fall, with some pre-Halloween premieres. Following the box office success of “Annabelle: Creation,” upcoming films such as Stephen King’s “IT,” “Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral,” “Cult of Chucky,” “Leatherface” and “Saw 8: Jigsaw” are also preparing for its massive debut in the box office.
Following the successful box office debut of “Annabelle: Creation,” Warner Bros announced that “The Conjuring” cinematic universe has earned $1 billion at the box office globally, Deadline noted.
The studio also noted that the latest “Annabelle” movie has the highest opening-weekend gross among the other films in “The Conjuring” franchise. So, do you think the upcoming horror films will also hit it big at the worldwide box office?
Stephen King’s ‘It’
Apart from the latest “Annabelle” installment, the re-adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel, “It,” is also eyeing a massive box office mark. According to Variety, initial tracking shows that the upcoming film that depicts the story of child-killing clown known as Pennywise could open to over $50 million when it hit theaters in the United States on Sept. 8, 2017.

Director Andrés Muschietti is also excited over the film’s R-rating, saying they didn’t hold back in “any aspect.” The re-adaptation also promises to offer an improved storyline and gory depictions.
For the cast, Bill Skarsgård is portraying the role of supernatural evil clown Pennywise.
Other cast members include Jaeben Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Logan Thompson, Owen Teague, Nicholas Hamilton, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Sophia Lillis and Jack Dylan Grazer. Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly revealed that an “It”-inspired 8-bit game, which allows players to navigate a paper boat called S.S.
Georgie through the sewers of Derry, Maine.
Players should also collect balloons and avoid the sewer pipes. The game is reportedly part of Warner Bros’ non-traditional marketing strategy.
‘Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral’
The long wait is over for “Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral” as AMC finally revealed the release date for the upcoming film, which will be on Sept.
26. Unfortunately, Dread Central refuted the reports and said that the rumors were not true at all since the movie has no concrete theatrical distribution plan.
The publication also revealed that the film is currently finishing its post-production stage. However, a double feature screening of the first two “Jeepers Creepers” movies is scheduled on Sept. 13 at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Meanwhile, the third installment will follow the dark origins of the iconic and mythical winged corn field creature called The Creeper, who goes on a 23-day feeding frenzy.
It will also follow the events that took place between the first two films. Aside from the Creeper, the infamous Creeper’s truck will also make a comeback along with its original casts Gina Philips and Jonathan Breck, who are portraying the roles of Trish Jenner and The Creeper respectively.
