With "Game Of Thrones" season 7 officially done and over with, the spotlight is now on the upcoming romantic series of Starz, "Outlander" season 3. A lot of fans are waiting for the season premiere because of the cliffhanger finale of season 2. The highly-awaited reunion of Jamie and Claire is one of the many highlights of season 3. According to Entertainment Tonight, the lead stars of the series, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, revealed that there will definitely be more romance in "Outlander" season 3. Presently, the cast and crew of the time-travel themed series are in Scotland filming the last few episodes.
"Outlander" season 3 is based on Diana Gabaldon's third novel in the series, "Voyager." In this story, twenty years have passed for Jamie and Claire, and the time that has passed will truly be a struggle for their once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. Their time difference is more palpable this time but fans are expecting to see their love for each other encompass all the hurdles and hardships the couple has to go through.
A very different season
According to Entertainment Tonight, Caitriona Balfe herself shared that season 3 will be very different from the previous two seasons. She shared that although every season feels unique and different from each other, the upcoming season is definitely the most unique among all the episodes that they have filmed.
Although Balfe and Heughan have promised fans that "Outlander" season 3 will be more romantic, they will have to wait for the romantic parts for quite a while as Jamie and Claire will be spending time apart in the first few episodes. This is in connection with the ending of season 2, where Claire decides to return to the present time, leaving Jamie to fight for his life in the Battle of Culloden.
What Claire doesn't know is that Jamie actually survives the Battle of Culloden and is trying to go back to her arms.
Decades apart - different time, different people
A twenty-year time jump can only bring so much difference and changes to "Outlander" season 3. Jamie and Claire are expected to have grown into different people, having spent twenty years apart in a different era and with different people.
However, their love for each other will prove that it can endure time and distance.
Fans of the series who have read Diana Gabaldon's book series know that the TV adaptation has pretty much followed the details to the core. With that in mind, many fans are waiting to see Jamie and Claire's sweet reunion in "Outlander" Season 3, which will premiere on September 10.
