The last episode of "Outlander" season 2 saw Claire shocked to discover that Jamie actually survived the battle with the Highland Army. It was already an expected twist though, because if Jamie actually died in the battle, then "Outlander" season 3 would pretty much be worthless. To add more drama to the finale, Claire vowed that she would do whatever it takes to return to Jamie, and that premise is expected to be the highlight of "Outlander" season 3. Claire's decision to leave Jamie was an act of selflessness because she wanted to save her unborn child.

Little did she know that 20 years after, she would find out that Jamie survived the battle.

Diana Gabaldon's 'Voyager'

From its premiere episode down to its upcoming episodes, "Outlander" TV series has been based on Diana Gabaldon's book series. Now on its third season, the series is also based on Diana Gabaldon's third book in the series, "Voyager."

From the name itself, fans can expect the main characters to go on a voyage that will surely make a big impact on Claire and Jamie's love story. Claire and Jamie are expected to go on a journey from Scotland to Jamaica. There were photos of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe goofing around on a big ship, which confirms the spoilers that Claire and Jamie are really going on a voyage in some episodes in "Outlander" season 3.

The battle of Culloden

According to Harpers Bazaar, "Outlander" season 3 will open with a scene showcasing the Battle Of Culloden. In Diana Gabaldon's book series, the said battle wasn't given much attention. However, the showrunners find it to be an interesting point to focus on, which is why the third season will start off with Jamie and Black Jack Randall's showdown on the moor.

The Battle Of Culloden fight scene is expected to be very intense and full of raging emotions as Jamie and Black Randall's fight gets too personal.

Meanwhile, Jamie and Claire's reunion won't happen in the first few episodes. In Diana Gabaldon's book series, the star-crossed lovers find themselves reuniting in a certain print shop.

This will definitely one of the highlights of "Outlander" season 3 but the fans will have to sit through a few episodes before they can see the highly-anticipated reunion.

Caitriona Balfe herself teased the fans with the print shop scene as she admitted that there will be a reunion and she is confident that it will truly make the fans happy. "Outlander" season 3 air date has yet to be released, but according to Harpers Bazaar, it is scheduled to air sometime in September, with a total of 13 episodes.
