Kesha delivered a powerful statement about suicide prevention during her appearance at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards held on Sunday. Although she did not attend to perform at the annual awarding event, the "Rainbow" artist used her voice to deliver an inspiring message to help those who are going through tough times.

Before she introduced Logic to perform his suicide prevention song, titled "1-800-273-8255" with Alessia Cara and Khalid, Kesha shared her personal thoughts on suicide that moved some members of the audience.
The singer-songwriter believed that no one would experience fear or doubt if they have someone to lean on.
She went on to remind those who are experiencing depression and anxiety to seek help and remember that there are people who are willing to lend a listening ear. "The truth is piercing. And the truth is what matters. And the truth is that none of us are alone," she added.
Kesha asked her viewers to never give up on themselves whenever they are going through tough times. Many fans could not help but recall the singer's ongoing legal battle against Dr. Luke in an alleged rape case in 2005. In her lawsuit reports, the "TiK Tok" artist claimed that she woke up naked in her producer's room after he gave her sober pills the previous night.

According to a Vulture report, the singer, who was then 18 years old, called her mother and told her that she was feeling "sore and sick" and thought she should go to the hospital. “Mom, I don’t know where I am. I think we had sex," Kesha recalled. "I don’t know where my clothes are."
In 2014, the "Die Young" singer filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke on allegations of sexual assault, battery, and for forcing her to take date-rape drugs. Kesha also claimed that she suffered from severe depression, post-traumatic stress, social isolation, and panic attacks while working with the producer.
"Whatever you are going through, however dark it may seem, there is an undeniable truth and strength in the fact that you are not alone.
We all have struggles," the singer said at Sunday's event.
Meanwhile, Jared Leto paid tribute to Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. Both singers died in an apparent suicide after their long battle with depression. "The absolute biggest breakthroughs in life lie just beyond the darkest days,” he said.
