It was a historic weekend for award-winning singer Demi Lovato, as she sang the National Anthem at the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night. On Sunday night, she headed out to perform at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.

At the fight, she was introduced in a plunging white outfit, complete with a golden belt as she sang “Star-Spangled Banner,” ahead of the boxing match that was watched by millions of fans around the world. It was the first time that she has performed the anthem in a boxing event, E!

However, Lovato is by no means an amateur in sports-related performances. She had previously sung the National Anthem at the fourth game of the 2015 World Series, the fifth game of the 2011 World Series, and during a Dallas Cowboys game in 2008.

Artist Imelda May sang the Irish national anthem during the event. Mayweather’s opponent, McGregor is an Irish professional boxer and mixed martial arts fighter.

Nervous

The Las Vegas event was attended by top-brass celebrities in the fields of entertainment and sports. Among those spotted in the event were Vanessa Hudgens, Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne, Jay Pharaoh, Nick Jonas and Orlando Bloom.

Also present were LeBron James, William Macy, Isaiah Thomas, Mike Tyson, Michael Rapaport, and a few other celebrities.

Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez spent the night together watching the boxing match.

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer revealed that she felt nervous about singing the National Anthem before the boxing fight started. She told MTV News that though she felt nervous, she felt excited.

“It’s the biggest fight of the generation!

So when you view it that way and the number of fans who are going to be watching, it is nerve-wracking for certain,” she said in the interview. Lovato also revealed that she did not side with anybody during the fight as she was there to unite the audience watching the event.

Strutted down

A day after the Mayweather-McGregor fight, Demi Lovato performed at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas.

The female pop artist strutted down the runway to sing her single, “Sorry Not Sorry.”

In the performance, she was joined by a gospel choir and walked an outdoor runway for her number. She was wearing a blue and black sexy outfit, with her hair tied in a ponytail.

The MTV VMAs 2017 that was held on Sunday night, featured performances by Ed Sheeran, Fifth Harmony, Shawn Mendes and more. Various artists were awarded in categories for their achievements in the music industry.
