Warner Brothers have recently revealed that they are currently talks with directors about a Joker and harley quinn movie. Rumors about the movie first began back in 2015 when "Suicide Squad" was released in theaters. There is a lot of unexplored territories when it comes to The Joker and Harley Quinn’s relationship and fans want to see this on screen.

A spin off movie about The Joker is in the works

According to MTV, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are set to reprise their roles as The Joker and Harley Quinn in a spin off movie of "Suicide Squad." The movie is to focus specifically on their characters who were first introduced in “Suicide Squad.” It has been confirmed that directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa have signed on for the movie, which is set to explore the couples twisted love story.

The directors are currently in talks Warner Bros as they are yet to finalize who will write and who will direct the movie. Fans were not happy when The Joker and Harley Quinn got limited screen time in "Suicide Squad" and they are delighted at the news of an independent movie.

Deadline has also reported that another movie about The Joker is currently in the works and is set to be directed by Martin Scorsese. This movie is not going to be in the DC Extended Universe, which means that Jared Leto will not be reprising his role of The Joker.

It will be interesting to see how the two characters of The Joker compare and if fans will prefer Leto’s performance of the deranged criminal.

It is clear that Leto is excited to be working with Margot on both the "Suicide Squad" sequel movie and the upcoming movie about their characters romantic origins.

Leto has claimed that Margot Robbie is one of the best actors of this generation. Jared went on to say that not only is she incredibly talented but she is one of the nicest people that he has ever worked with. The actors became close friends during their time on the "Suicide Squad" movie and have kept in contact ever since.

During filming for the “Suicide Squad” movie, a rumor started that Leto sent Margot Robbie a dead pig head. However, Leto has denied this claims and has confirmed that the rumor is simply that, a rumor.
