Robert Downey Jr. gave Marvel fans the best news on Instagram last Tuesday when he confirmed that Gwyneth Paltrow and Jon Favreau are slated to appear in the upcoming sequel of "Avengers: Infinity War." Entertainment Tonight has exclusively confirmed that Downey Jr. shared a photo online which featured him together with actors Paltrow and Favreau. The trio was dressed up for the set of the Marvel film which took place at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
Stark Industries CEO
In the upcoming sequel of "Avengers: Infinity War," Paltrow is slated to portray the role of the CEO of the Stark Industries.
She is also going to portray the girlfriend of Tony Stark in the film. To recall, Paltrow was not seen in the previous movies, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and” Caption America: Civil War" This led fans to speculate that the actress would no longer be part of Marvel films again.
However, her fans were happily stunned when she recently appeared in a special cameo role for "Spider-man: Homecoming." Apparently, it has paved her way to get back into the Stark team again. Favreau is slated to portray the role of Stark's bodyguard. He was also known for directing other movies like "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2." Apart from his craft of being a director, Favreau has been part of different stand-alone films.
Behind the scenes
Since "Avengers: Infinity War" started filming, Downey Jr. has already shared a series of behind-the-scene photos on Instagram. He also shared some pictures of the set which featured some villainous characters of the movie like Thanos and Josh Brolin. Meanwhile, fans of the Marvel film were left more excited when a photo of Downey Jr.
featured the Marvel legend, Stan Lee.
Another photo from Downey Jr. also featured the Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson. She was seen displaying a heavy tattoo on her back while filming her scenes. At this time, the production team has kept 'mum' about the other details of the film. Nevertheless, it was learned by Entertainment Tonight that "Avengers: Infinity Wars" is set to be released in theaters on May 4, 2018.
The upcoming sequel is reported to be the largest gathering of Marvel characters according to The Wrap. Apart from Paltrow and Favreau, it was also revealed that some other characters are returning to the film. While it seems like forever, movie fans have to wait a little more time before this Marvel film hits theaters next year.
