The last episode of Season 7 titled "Behind the Wall" was one of the best in the entire season. Winter had finally arrived and the battle with the White Walkers was extraordinary. 'GOT' crew members did an amazing job as usual with Season 7, but it is the season's finale that the fans are eager to watch.

Season 8 to start filming in October

There is no doubt that "Game of Thrones" is one of HBO's biggest TV shows. According to the Express, actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who plays Jaime Lannister stated that the filming for the next season will start in October. Season 7 brought grave news for Daenerys Targaryen with the death of one dragon, but the biggest battles are yet to come and those are believed to be in Season 8.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said that they might get their scripts in the next few weeks and he is eager to know where the story continues. The president of HBO Casey Bloys revealed that Season 8 will have longer episodes. It is going to be bigger than expected but it will not arrive until August next year.

It is a long wait again for all "Game of Thrones" fans, but it is certainly going to be worth it if it is anything like Season 7.

Season 8 to have only six episodes

It appears that the next season will be the shortest with only six episodes. However, some of the episodes are believed to come with a duration of one and a half hours.

Elite Daily reported that "Game of Thrones" will have a prequel series and HBO is already in the early stages of its development. At present George RR Martin is also working on the "Mammoth project" with four writers working on each series, the Express UK reported.

There is no guarantee about the series getting air dates anytime soon, but Bloys revealed that they are in the development stages.

A prequel to "Game of Thrones" is all that HBO needs to get their fans excited. That said, season 8 is already storming with new theories. Some 'GOT' fans believe that it will be Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen who get to sit on the iron throne.
