The latest episode of the new season of “Game of Thrones” aired last weekend and it has already earned the highest number of viewership ratings despite it being leaked. The next episode will air this Sunday evening and here’s a quick recap on what happened in the last episode.

The Lannisters

As revealed in the fourth episode of Game of Thrones” Season 7, Daenerys and her Dothraki warriors ambushed Jaime’s caravans, which housed the loots they gained after attacking Highgarden, which was the seat of House Tyrell and the capital of the Reach. Daenery's attack was fierce and the Lannisters and Taryls’ joint forces were nothing compared to the dragon's fury and the army of Dothraki.

Jaime and Bronn barely escaped the attack after the former attempted to kill Daenerys by piercing her with a spear. However, Jaime ridiculously forgot that he was also up against her dragon and it if it weren’t for Bronn saving him at the nick of time, Jaime would have been burned to ashes.

Jaime arrived at King’s Landing and was greeted by Cersei’s cold inquiry of the number of troops they lost instead of checking on her brother’s well-being. Jaime reported to Cersei of the gruesome events and tried to convince her that it was not a war they could win.

However, Cersei insisted that they’ll still fight even if the odds are stacked against them and revealed to Jaime that she was pregnant with his child.

Shortly after that revelation, Tyrion sneaked into King’s Landing and secretly reunited with his brother, Jaime to ask for help in fighting the White Walkers.

The Starks

Meanwhile, in Winterfell, only Sansa is oblivious to Little Finger’s devious schemes. Arya has been following him around their household and even snuck into his room to find an old message from Sansa, which she sent to their late brother, declaring that their late father was a traitor.

To Little Finger’s delight, this revelation made Arya furious and she decided to confront her sister about it. The confrontation led to a heated argument and ended with possible threats, especially from Arya.

There were early speculations for “Game of Thrones” Season 7 that Little Finger will try to pit Arya and Sansa against each other just so he can eliminate one of the threats against his life.

However, there’s still a possibility that the sisters will actually be aware of his schemes and unite against him instead.

The Targaryens

Daenerys has executed the Tarlys after they refused to bend the knee and join her. Tyrion and Varys are worried about her impulsive decisions, which may lead to her untimely demise.

Fans already know that Jon Snow is a Targaryen and that he is the nephew of Daenerys but only Bran knows about this. Jon and Daenerys are currently in Dragonstone and “Game of Thrones” season 7 episode 5 hinted at Jon’s true heritage when he unexpectedly gave Drogon a careful path.

Jon has also finally found out that Bran and Arya are alive but he couldn’t be happy about it because he also received news of the Night King’s army marching towards Eastwatch.

The Targaryens and their council decided they needed the Lannisters’ army to defeat the Night King’s army but they had to convince Cersei first so Jon and Jorah volunteered to go beyond the wall with a small team to retrieve a White Walker.
