The new season of “Game of Thrones” kicked off last month and with three episodes already shown, fans are eager to see more interaction between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, especially because they’ve finally met for the first time in the series.
The anticipated meeting
After a very long wait, Jon Snow and Daenerys finally laid eyes on each other in “Game of Thrones” season 7 episode 3, and their first meeting was quite a funny one. Daenerys needed another ally in her quest to claim the Iron Throne, and Jon Snow needed the dragon glass that laid beneath the Dragonstone.
The two houses are determined to get what they want, but neither of them was willing to yield to the other until of course, Daenerys’ hand, Tyrion Lannister intervened and told her that the way to the Stark’s heart is through the dragon glass. Fans all over the world are excited to see the destined alliance, but some fans are hoping that there will be more than just a partnership.
Some fans have been pairing the two Targaryens even before Jon Snow’s real parents were revealed and the latest development in the HBO television series might pave the way to making this fantasy come true. No doubt there was chemistry between them when they first met in Dragonst, throwing smart remarks and retorts at each other.
Possible union between Targaryens
There have been no reports of a possible romance between the two characters and even actor Kit Harington insisted that there’s nothing romantic going on between Jon Snow and Daenerys, there may be hints that the romance might just happen after all. HBO recently went through an unfortunate ordeal after the network was hacked and major spoilers for an upcoming episode of this season was leaked.
In addition to that, this week’s episode was also leaked because HBO’s distribution partner, Star India’s copy of the episode was compromised. A spokesperson from Star India confirmed earlier that the breach came from their side and they are going to take appropriate legal action.
Going back to the possible Jon Snow and Daenerys’ romance, the two leaks earlier this week pretty much gave away hints that there is something clearly budding between the two characters.
Meanwhile, the leaked story for the upcoming episode of “Game of Thrones” season 7 reportedly revealed that Daenerys will be distracted from her plans to conquer after Jon Snow shows up in her life. The Stark bastard has apparently been running in the Khaleesi’s mind, and once a major fight between Jon Snow and the White Walkers happens, Daenerys jumps on her dragons as soon as she gets the message to help and save Jon Snow.
Incest in Westeros
Now, if the budding romance between the two major characters does bear fruit then that would mean a great union between two great houses. Some may raise the issue of incest since Westeros considers avunculate relationships as incest and Daenerys was confirmed to be Jon Snow’s aunt, incest has been a common practice in House Targaryen because of Valyrian custom.
In fact, King Aenys wed his daughter Rhaena to her own brother Aegon. Daenerys and her late brother Viserys are the product of generations of compound inbreeding within the Targaryens, which enabled them to preserve their distinct Valyrian features.
