It’s official! Emma Roberts has put down her charming “Scream Queens” role and returned to Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series for a seventh season. Ryan Murphy confirmed the exciting news of Roberts’ return to the seventh season of the anthology series by posting a photo of the star on Instagram holding a knife. He captioned it: “Look who showed up on the set of Cult looking glamorous and ready for action.”
However, just like any other veteran actor on “American Horror Story,” the studio has kept a tight lid on which roles the actors are playing and every single detail other than Sarah Paulson’s character named Ally.
So, it will be exciting to find out this September which character Emma Roberts is playing and how many episodes she’ll be in.
'AHS: Cult' Season 7
The seventh season, entitled "AHS: Cult" will explore the 2016 presidential election, which perhaps nobody expected from both Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Following the title reveal, Murphy announced that the 11-episode season would happen in Michigan.
Season 7 cast
Other than Emma Roberts and the expected return of Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters (Emma’s real-life boyfriend) will be returning, playing Kai. According to Murphy’s Twitter reveal: “This is his heaviest season yet.”
Frances Conroy (who previously appeared in seasons 1 to 4 and 6, playing everything from the Angel of Death to a cannibal hillbilly, to the iconic Myrtle Snow) is also coming back for "Cult" along with Mare Winningham -- a veteran of the show that has appeared in some form or another in "Coven," "Freak Show," and "Hotel."
Adina Porter is also coming back for her second season after debuting in “AHS: Roanoke.” Plus, Cheyenne Jackson -- whose character is still under wraps -- is also coming back for another season of fun.
Making their debut in the iconic horror anthology are Billy Eichner, who will appear as confidant of Ally (Paulson’s character), Colton Haynes from “Scream Queens” and “Teen Wolf,” and Leslie Grossman who finally joins the troupe.
“Scream Queens” actress Billie Lourd makes her debut in the seventh season as well. Murphy teased her jump to the FX hit in an Instagram shot where Lourd sports white hair, captioned as “Winter is coming. Can’t wait for everybody to see what the incredible Billie Lourd does this season on AHS.”
There is still no sign of Lady Gaga appearing in the seventh season. Also missing is Jessica Lange -- who last joined the cast in “AHS: Freak Show.” But Twisty will be coming back to provide more fun!
