Social media is an interesting thing, as it serves as a platform for film studios to self-publish the latest news on their highly anticipated movies. Take for example "Deadpool 2," which in the last few weeks have been the topic of entertainment headlines, as star Ryan Reynolds has been actively keeping fans updated on the movie. Earlier this month, Reynolds took to Twitter to share the first look at Josh Brolin as Cable in "Deadpool 2." The image showed Brolin with his automated arm, while holding a massive weapon. Interestingly, there was a ragged teddy bear attached to his belt as well, which Hollywood Reporter claimed may be a link to his past as Cyclops' son.
But now that fans have seen Brolin suited up and ready for battle as Cable, they're about ready to check out a close up, a photo of which was recently shared by Universo X-Men.
Josh Brolin squinting at the light
In a new photo shared by the Universo X-Men Twitter account, Josh Brolin as Cable can be seen squinting at the light. His left eye is shut, as he looks up towards a light. Screen Rant reported that it's noticeable that Cable isn't wearing any of his metallic attachments, except for that on his neck. He also appears greasy and worn from battle, so "Deadpool 2" may follow the timeline in which he exists in future that's filled with chaos and warfare.

New photo doesn't reveal much
Because the new photo is a close-up and because the studio would definitely keep mum on any hints that may lead to spoilers for "Deadpool 2," there's not much to go on about the upcoming film.
The new photo however, sparks speculation among fans about whether Cable or Nathaniel Summers did travel through time to be saved from a techno-organic virus.
Film encountered tragedy on set
Just this week, the "Deadpool 2" production witnessed a tragedy when Zazie Beetz' stuntwoman, Joi ‘SJ’ Harris, was killed on set after a motorcycle accident.
Variety reported that Beetz took to Instagram to share that her heart is "breaking" over the death of Harris and that "I know that what I feel is nothing compared to what her loved ones, friends and family, are feeling. My heart and my love goes out to her and them all." Ryan Reynolds also took to Twitter to write that he and the rest of production are "heartbroken, shocked, and devastated" over her death.
"Deadpool 2" is directed by David Leitch with a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and is set to be released on June 1, 2018.
