When "Dancing With The Stars" 2017 premieres Sept. 18 on ABC, a boy-bander and his wife will both hit the ballroom to strut their stuff for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, if an Aug. 25 report by People is on the money. Per the spoiler-y bit of press, one-time "Newlyweds" and 98 Degrees boy-bander Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa Lachey will both take part in the Fall 2017 iteration of the hit reality dance competition. ABC does not comment on "DWTS" casting rumors and an unnamed source spilled the beans.
Nick and Vanessa Lachey join 'DWTS'?
If the rumor pans out, Nick, 43, and Vanessa, 36, will be the second married couple to test their union by going head to head for the "Dancing with the Stars" title.
The first marital showdown came during season 21, when actors Alexa Penavega and Carlos Penavega faced off with respective partners Mark Ballas and Witney Carson. Although both pairs fared well with voters over the course of the season, it was Carlos who enjoyed a longer competition life: he and Carson placed fourth, while his better half finished sixth with Ballas.
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey won't be the only husband and wife duo to take part in "Dancing with the Stars" 2017, though, as pro dancers Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy --who welcomed baby Shai in January and tied the knot over the summer after enjoying a long relationship-- will team up with celebrity partners. Both talented pro hoofers already earn Mirrorball Trophies --Chmerkovskiy has one, while Murgatroyd has claimed two-- but both are eager to claim another win.
'Dancing with the Stars' 25 lineup to feature several reality TV stars?
In addition to Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey, the "Dancing with the Stars" 2017 lineup is also rumored to include a pair of reality TV stars in "Property Brothers" star Drew Scott and "Total Divas" personality Nikki Bella. Although, again, ABC does not comment on "DWTS" casting rumors, Bella's fiance --wrestler John Cena-- tweeted a note to Bella on Aug.
25 that raised eyebrows. Cena's tweet read "Continually inspired by @BellaTwins as Nicole embarks today on another amazing adventure.Time apart is tough, but I love u and support U 100%" "DWTS" fans immediately speculated that the tweet might reference a "Dancing with the Stars" berth.
"Dancing with the Stars" 2017 kicks off Sept. 18 on ABC. Tune in to "Good Morning America" on Sept. 6 to watch as the full cast is unveiled live.
