Chris Pratt and Anna Faris stunned the public when they announced that they were legally separating eight years after they tied the knot in Bali. In a joint statement released on Sunday, the estranged couple asked for privacy as they move forward with the separation.
Pratt and Faris split after 8-year marriage
Since the announcement, neither of the two has spoken up to reveal the reason behind the sudden split. But a source close to the former couple assured that no third party was involved in their separation.
“infidelity was not an issue in the split between Chris and Anna, who are dealing with their separation as amicably as possible,” a source told Hollywood Life.
“They still talk daily and are on good terms, not vicious, mad or angry at each other like so many high-profile divorces.”
Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are now dedicated to co-parent their son, Jack, who is turning five this August 24. “Instead they are taking a page out of Gwyneth [Paltrow] and Chris Martin‘s, "conscious uncoupling" book and are trying to be as good to each other as possible as they begin to move forward with the divorce paperwork," the insider said.
The source further revealed that the "Scary Movie" alum has been "crying daily" since she and her estranged husband called it quits. Both Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are leaning on to their family and friends as they go through this difficult time in their marriage.
Faris talks about her relationship with Pratt before separation
A few months before the "Take Me Home Tonight" pair delivered the unfortunate news, Anna Faris gushed about her affection for Chris Pratt and how she has learned to "be selfish in love" after she married him. The 40-year-old actress also confessed that their relationship was not perfect despite their similarities.
Not much has been said about the separation and even their fans never thought that this day would come for the celebrity couple. Several sources, however, told TMZ that the couple's different views on what a family should be have propelled them to go their separate ways.
Anna Faris reportedly wants to have more kids and a tight-knit family.
The actress also wants the entire family to stay in Los Angeles for good. But unlike her, Chris Pratt is reportedly not ready to have more kids because of his filming schedule at the moment.
The "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor is afraid that "he can't juggle a growing family with his career" aside from his objection to stay in one place. But despite their disagreement on this matter, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris promised to continue their unbreakable bond with their only son.
