Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are calling it quits after eight years of being married. In a joint statement released on Sunday, the celebrity couple confirmed that they are "legally separating" after failing to save their relationship. “We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed," the two said.

Both parties have yet to provide the reason for the separation and asked that public respect their decision in making the situation a private matter. "We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”
The announcement came two months after Chris Pratt gushed about how he and Anna Faris compete in entertaining their son, Jack.
“We’re strangely competitive with each other when it comes to entertaining him and getting into the voices and the characters. I’ll read the left page and she’ll read the right page," he said according to PEOPLE.
Inside Pratt and Faris' relationship
The two actors first met on the set of "Take Me Home Tonight" in 2007, where they starred as a couple. Although things did not end well for their on-screen characters, Chris Pratt felt a different kind of love while working with Anna Faris for the movie.
The "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor, however, clarified that he did not profess his love for the actress until she filed for a divorce from her then-husband, Ben Indra, in April 2007. Chris Pratt said both of them had developed a tight bond and became good friends after filming the movie.
He was also there for the actress when she was going through her divorce.
"The day that she told me she was leaving her husband, I knew that I was going to marry her," he told Elle magazine.
In 2008, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced their engagement and tied the knot a year later in Bali. The celebrity couple finally welcomed their first child in 2012.
The "Scary Movie" actress gave birth to a three-pound baby prematurely, while her husband reportedly stayed beside her sobbing. "It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it," the actor recalled.
The couple starred in several more projects, including "What's Your Number" (2011), "Movie 43" (2013) and "Mom" (2016).
During their free time, the celebrity couple usually stayed at home, went on hikes or took their son to the aquarium or zoo for some quality time together.
Fans of the celebrity pair labeled Chris Pratt and Anna Farris as 'couple goals' after seeing how the two had shown their affection toward each regardless of how other people reacted to their PDA.
