We've already gotten a little information about what we can expect in the "Transformers" spinoff, "bumblebee." We know that rising star Hailee Stanfield has already been cast as the main "human" in the film that is set in 1987. Because it is set in the past, the movie is going to be able to play with the lore of a film a bit. It also appears the producers will be able to play with the costumes a bit as well.

The new photo, which just surfaced online, shows Stanfield decked out head to toe in 1980's garb. Stanfield is shown wearing a Motorhead shirt, a band that was quite popular back in 1987. She's also very clearly go the 80's hair down for someone who would have been a fan of the band back then.

Throwback Monday

Since "Bumblebee" was announced, there hasn't been a whole lot of information on who else is going to be starring in the movie or what the plot will be. It seems as though there may have to be a bit of a rewrite in the way the main robotic character is portrayed as the canon, such as it is, had him hurting his voice box just before the events of the first "Transformers."

The throwback look of Steinfield makes it clear this film is going to be taking place well before the robotic invasion force shows up again in that original film.

We do have a bit of a synopsis of the flick, though it doesn't give a whole lot of info as to what the rest of the film is going to entail.

"On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town." The synopsis goes on to explain where the lead human character, played by Steinfeld will come in. "Charlie discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When she revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug."

Finding her way in the 'Bumblebee' world

The synopsis also said Charlie is just trying to find her way in the world. That might also be why the actress has been depicted as having a look on her face that hints she's a bit of a "rebel." Is it possible that Bumblebee is going to be rebelling from his superiors as well?

Since this is long before things went so wrong in the latest films, it's more likely the yellow robot is running a mission for Optimus Prime and it's the Decepticons who are chasing out hero.

Fans of the movie series are hoping the addition of an actress like Steinfeld might make the movie a bit better than the last couple. The young actress has had quite a career for herself, both on the silver screen and belting out the tunes.
