When fans of "Big Brother" watch the reality show, they hone in on the players and watch their unique habits. Viewers pick up information about the personality and lifestyle of the houseguests by paying attention to what they do and say. Some of those things might make viewers laugh and some of them might make viewers sympathize with a particular houseguest.
About Kevin Schlehuber
Kevin Schlehuber is the oldest houseguest on Season 19 and the third oldest to appear on the reality show. The 56-year-old stay-at-home dad is double the age of some of his housemates.
He has never won Head of Household or Power of Veto. He has never been on the block. Now that the season is at its midpoint, it appears that the show has taken a toll on Kevin.
One thing we know for sure is that he misses his children. He grew up in a large family where he is one of seven children. He has seven children of his own, and six of them are girls. The only son, Andrew, is the youngest child. The father might be missing his children more than other parents because he is a stay-at-home dad which means he spends a lot of time with them. He has been married 31 years to a nurse.
In his initial interview, Kevin described himself as caring who likes being with his large family and playing pool or darts with his children.
The dad says he has no specific strategy for winning except being himself. He writes in his journal to document his life in the house. He prays with his Rosary beads and pictures himself with his family and constantly reminds himself why he is there.
It is evident that Kevin loves his community because he often talks about where he is from.
In 1981, he was the dunk champion for Boston. In 1986, he was crowned Mr. Massachusetts. He considers himself a nice dresser and has done some modeling. Viewers might not have noticed this, but Kevin says he has a birthmark in his eye.
Unique things Kevin has done
This week, Kevin talked about how much he misses his kids. He said he was not going to cry on national television.
Instead, he stuck his head in the freezer and held it there for a while. It appeared that he was emotional and he let out a sigh of relief when he withdrew from the freezer.
Three weeks ago, Kevin wrapped his stomach in a roll of Saran Wrap. Paul watched him use almost an entire box of the plastic wrap around his stomach. Paul questioned him, and Kevin explained that he sleeps in the wrap every night.
Kevin knew nothing about the show before he became a contestant. It is evident he tries to keep peace in the house. He kept it a secret that he is the one who won the $25,000 on the first night, but news of it has slowly leaked when people speculated who won it.
Even if Kevin is evicted anytime soon, he will not be able to return home until the finale because he will be sequestered in the jury house until the end of the season. Therefore, he will just have to miss his family longer.
