It's splitsville season in Hollywood, as pop singer Aaron Carter and his girlfriend, Madison Parker have separated. The news came via his representative, who told PEOPLE, "Aaron [Carter] and Madison [Parker] love each other and respect one another dearly. It was a mutual decision and Aaron’s personal statement released speaks for itself. Now back to the music." It seems that the singer is now truly focusing on his musical career, as he recently shared that he is done recording his latest album.

The 29-year old has had a rough couple of months, as he first quit Twitter in June after he experienced bullying and body shaming.

He slammed his "fake fans" for talking about his skinny frame and insisted that it was because of a medical condition that he was born with, which was why he remains thin. In July, the singer was arrested for possession of marijuana less than one ounce and other drug-related materials. His girlfriend was also arrested.

Singer speaks out on alleged drug addiction

Following the tumultuous month, Aaron Carter spoke to Entertainment Tonight to share his side of the story, insisting that the marijuana he consumes is purely for medical purposes and that he was not addicted to any drugs. He also spoke out about his love for his girlfriend, Madison Parker. He shared that he wants to be married someday, saying, "I wanna be engaged to my beautiful girlfriend, Madison.

I wanna be a good father, a good role model, a strong role model." However, that seems to be an impossibility now that the pair has broken up.

'Sooner or Later' singer talks about his sexuality

Aaron Carter took to Twitter yesterday to share his thoughts on something that "has been weighing on my chest for nearly half of my life." He published a note saying that at age 13, he "started to find boys and girls attractive" but it wasn't until he was 17 when he first had "an experience with a male" who he was attracted to.

He did not name exactly who that man was, but he did admit that he "worked with and grew up with" that person. It was unclear whether or not this person or his attraction to the same sex played a part in his breakup with Madison Parker.

Carter focusing on his music career

In the note that Aaron Carter recently published, he also spoke about how post-breakup with Madison Parker, he is focusing on his music.

The singer admitted that the recording studio is his "safe haven" where he keeps at his work, because "I never want to be a figure of disappointment." Meanwhile, he continues to post encouraging messages directed to his fans on Twitter. See one of his messages below.
