Who would have thought that Hulu's adaptation of Margaret Atwood's best-selling novel would amass an impressive fanbase because of its compelling and dystopian story? From the very beginning, "The Handmaid's Tale" was already a controversial story in its own right, telling the tale of a handmaid, who is forced to survive by participating in reproductive slavery.

The big banquet - fertile females over chocolates

While the handmaids were busy cleaning the place, ridding it of any traces of dirt or blood, the wives of the commanders were also busy preparing for a big banquet. On the outside, it seemed as if they were just hands-on wives, doing their best to come up with a successful and enjoyable banquet for their husbands and guests.

However, delving deeper into their intentions, it appears that Gilead wants to showcase their very fertile female handmaids to the visitors from Mexico.

Instead of the usual trade and barter of chocolate and other goods and commodities, Gilead wanted to offer a twisted trade involving the handmaids.

Serena to Offred - 'Speak wisely.'

While the handmaids were busy cleaning and scrubbing the place, Serena calls Offred into her room. She told Offred that the visitors would certainly be curious about how the handmaids lived their lives in Gilead and advised her to be careful of what to reveal.

Serena's approach to Offred can be seen more as a threat rather an advise. There were also flashbacks of Serena and Fred in "The Handmaid's Tale" episode 6 when the couple was still trying to have a baby the natural way.

Offred and Nick's chemistry

"The Handmaid's Tale" episode 6 also treated the viewers with a short but very meaningful scene featuring Offred and Nick.

The on-screen chemistry of Nick and Offred have captured the attention of the viewers, and it seemed like they were playing with fire as they smirked playfully at each other amid the hustle and bustle of the household. Nick fearfully told Offred that she looked lovely and those words seemed to burn into a hole in the forbidden rules in the house.
