What is "Produce 101" survival reality show?

"Produce 101" Season 2 is a South Korean boy band survival reality show where the public viewers act as national producers of the artists.

The national producers will be the one to choose the 11 artists out of the 101 trainees from different South Korean entertainment companies to form a Korean boy band. The public will also be the one to choose the Korean boy group's official name, concept and debut song. With this, the viewers will have a boy band that fits their taste and likes.

One trainee left the show

The South Korean survival show originally has 101 artist members. Among the contestants include Choon Entertainment's Kim Yong Guk and Kim Si Hyun. The former is a 22-year-old artist that has been trained for more or less one year and six months.

He likes watching thrilling movies and playing games. In his profile, his last words would be "I will do my best with a passion bigger than anyone's." He ranked at #21. Kim Si Hyun, on the other hand, is a 20-year-old artist who has been trained for nine months. He likes reading novels, playing the piano, and playing games. His last words would be "I will do my best and not be disheartened." However, the latter left the survival show due to health concerns before "Produce 101" Season 2 first broadcast.

Yongguk&Sihyun group set to debut

Despite their ranks and absence from the show, South Korean " Kim Yong Guk and Kim Si Hyun will be the first trainees to debut as a unit group ahead of the winning 11 Wanna One.

Choon Entertainment officially announced that they would be called Yongguk&Sihyun group.

Choon Entertainment also revealed that Yongguk&Sihyun group would release an album for their unit project on July 31, 2017. In line with this, "Produce 101" Kim Yong Guk, and Kim Si Hyun will be holding a fan meeting for the first time. It is scheduled for July 29, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. KST at Mapo Art Center.

Several fans have expressed their concerns about the overlapping of promotions for the new unit group and JBJ promotions. However, Choon Entertainment assured that the promotions for Yongguk&Sihyun would not overlap with JBJ promotions.
