San Diego Comic-Con 2017 goers will be treated to the return of the Outlander panel. Of course, it will be led by Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan along with Diana Gabaldon and other staff and crew.

To recall, the British-American television drama series didn’t attend the event last year. Now, they will be all back at the San Diego Convention Center Ballroom 20 on July 21 at 5 p.m. to answer fan’s questions.

Stars at SDCC 2017

Aside from Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and Diana Gabaldon, the “Outlander” season 3 panel will also be attended by its executive producers Ronald D.

Moore and Maril Davis.

Other cast members who will grace the event are Tobias Menzies, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin. The panel will be hosted by “World of Dance” judge and Channing Tatum’s wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum.

The television series based on Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” novel series has been nominated for both Golden Globe and Emmy awards. Its third installment is set to premiere in September, although Starz has yet to announce its official date of release. However, it is expected to be revealed at the coming San Diego Comic-Con 2017.

The upcoming season will be composed of 13 episodes based on “Voyager,” the third book from the novel series. Aside from the panel, the stars will also hold an autograph session on July 22.

The exact time is to be announced soon. San Diego Comic-Con will run from July 20 to 23, while the preview night will happen on July 19.

The writer’s exit

Meanwhile, the show’s writer and co-executive producer Anne Kenney announced on Twitter that “Outlander” season 3 will be her final stint in the television series.

"#Voyager (season 3) will be my last,” the EP shared on Monday after a fan asked her if she would be writing more episodes for the next season.

To recall, the show has been picked up to have seasons three and four.

“It was AMAZING experience but time to look 4 new challenges," she added. She also claimed that she will be a forever fan of the show. Frankly speaking, she still doesn’t have any plans regarding what she is going to do next. However, she promised she will stay in touch with all of the fans.

She also assured that the fourth season will be handled by “mostly women writers,” thus the future of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) will be in good hands.

“Outlander” season 3 will return to the small screen in September on Starz. Watch out for the coming San Diego Comic-Con 2017 for the official announcement.
