"Game of Thrones" is officially back for Season 7 and fans couldn't be more excited. The HBO series will debut the first episode of the season on Sunday night and viewers have been waiting for what seems like an eternity to find out what happens next with their favorite characters in Westeros.
Jon Snow is the King in the North
According to Spoiler TV, the synopsis for the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premiere episode has been released online, and while it is brief, and mostly spoiler free, it does reveal what "GoT" fans should expect when the show finally returns to HBO.
The synopsis reveals that Jon Snow, played by actor Kit Harington, will organize the defenses in the North. As many fans will remember when we last saw Jon he had just been named King in the North and was worried about organizing an army to fight against the White Walkers.
Cersei wants to settle the score
Meanwhile, Cersei will try to "even the odds," which will likely consist of her conspiring with those around her about the best way to take out her many enemies. As "Game of Thrones" viewers know, Cersei was recently named the Queen of Westeros and will now have to figure out how to keep the iron throne for herself when so many others are coming for it. It would seem that Cersei's biggest threat would be Daenerys Targaryen, who not only has a claim to the throne, but a huge army consisting of the Dothraki, the Unsullied, and other rival families, and not to mention she's got the most powerful weapon of them all, three full grown, and very dangerous dragons.
Dany finally goes home
During the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premiere, fans will see Daenerys return to her homeland of Dragonstone. It will be the first time that Dany will set foot on the place where her family members hailed from and seeing her there will likely be a very powerful image. Daenerys is one of the strongest characters on "GoT," and fans know that she'll probably draw power just from being at Dragonstone.
Meanwhile, the rest of the synopsis offers no hints to what other characters like Sansa, Arya, Littlefinger, Jaime Lannister, Tyrion, Bran, or Sam may be doing, or if viewers will even see them at all in the first episode of the season. "Game of Thrones" fans know that Season 7 is set to be the biggest yet, and will set up the Season 8, which has been confirmed to be the very last for the television show. Meanwhile, multiple "GoT" spin-offs are in the works, so it looks like the story will continue on in the future.
