"Dunkirk" hit the theaters July 13 in London and has been enthusiastically received by the audience for more than a week now. This work of Christopher Nolan is absolutely a game changer even though he has already carved a niche for himself through his creations like the hit movies “Interstellar,” and "Inception."

Aside from being the center of attraction as a creation of Nolan, "Dunkirk" also features One Direction artist Harry Styles. It can be recalled how Harry Styles was placed in the spotlight when his appearance was confirmed amid comments on how difficult it was to shoot the film.

Epic war movie that Hitchcock would have loved

As the plot of "Dunkirk" is an astonishing tale of pure survival in war, it will truly be enjoyed by anyone fascinated by suspense and action movies. The movie tells the story of how 330,000 soldiers were evacuated from the beach of Dunkirk in the spring of 1940. With the prowess that its writer-director Christopher Nolan has shown, it is perfectly normal for the film to garner an average of 90-95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb and Metacritic.

Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock was an English and American film director and producer, at times referred to as "The Master of Suspense." He pioneered many elements of the suspense and psychological thriller genres.

With "Dunkirk" featuring a great war during the World War II, it is fairly certain that Hitchcock would have loved the movie, Deadline pointed out.

The movie is critically acclaimed for its stellar sound work, tight and superb editing by Lee Smith. It also features stunning cinematography by Hoyt Van Hoytema both on water and in the air which features the aerial footage very nicely.

What the critics have to say about Harry Styles in 'Dunkirk'

When Harry Style's appearance in "Dunkirk" was confirmed, critics responded coldly as to whether the 1D artist could act or not. Fortunately, 1D fans sighed of relief when Harry's debut in acting garnered the critical respect.

Critic Brian Truitt of USA Today expressed his respect to Styles saying that he offered a surprising amount of grit and pathos.

Cris klimek, on the other hand, said that Harry has more screen time than any other sparingly deployed stars. He also adds that although Styles didn't stand out among the other soldiers, he was way more handsome than the others.

In addition, Robbie Collin also commented on Style's performance as bright, convicted and unexpectedly not-all-jarring. In general, critics reception to the debut of Harry Style's acting performance isn't bad at all.
