"Arrow" season 5 ended up with an unexpected cliffhanger and the show has left the fans hanging with the characters that possibly died, or remained alive during the explosion in Lian Yu. One of the most anticipated roles in the series is Juliana Harkavy's new Black Canary.
According to Christian Post, the team Arrow member is set to have a new love interest in the upcoming season. Executive producer Wendy Mericle confirmed the said report but she won't be revealing the lover's identity.
Dinah Drake will have a 'fun story' of romance in season 5
"I'm not going to tell you with whom; because that's a fun story we're very excited about," Mericle explained.
It can be recalled that Juliana Harkavy was promoted as a series regular, along with Rick Gonzales, who plays the role of Wild Dog. Ever since Dinah Drake (Harkavy) joined the team Arrow, she has been particularly close with Diggle (David Ramsey).
However, EP Mericle pointed out that Diggle is not to become Drake's significant other. The female TV producer says that is the fun part of the story since viewers are rooting for Diggle and Dinah's relationship development. Unfortunately, the former is a married man as well and confirming him not as the new Black Canary's lover is a relief.
In the end, there has been little exchange of chats between Drake and Diggle. Dinah previously opened up with the latter about her previous love life.
She was in pain for a while but fans will see her moving on to fight in "Arrow" season 6.
New Black Canary: A life changing step for Dinah Drake
Aside from a new romance, Drake has to face the villainous Black Siren (Katie Cassidy). The doppelganger of the former Black Canary will reportedly be angry now that Drake becomes the official one to take Laurel Lance's place.
Black Siren is set not to make things any easier for Drake.
Moreover, the ability of Dinah Drake to balance her life will be an issue too. After all, she is working as a cop, just like how Laurel Lance (Cassidy), the late Black Canary, worked as a District Attorney and performs vigilante duties at night with team Arrow.
Furthermore, Mericle adds the team will continuously find answers to things that have been explored since the first season.
As to who will be Dinah Drake's new lover, viewers will find that out once the series return on October 12, 2017. Stay tuned for more "Arrow" season 6 updates. Also, share your thoughts in the comment section.
