"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 5 already has a confirmed premiere date of September 26 and fans of the Mike Schur and Dan Goor-created comedy is already looking forward to seeing the resolution to last season finale's cliffhanger. Season 4 left viewers with the fact that Andy Samberg's Det. Jake Peralta and Stephanie Beatriz's Rosa Diaz are heading to jail after being framed by Lt.
Melanie Hawkins (Gina Gershon).
When the next season premieres, the series will find the two characters facing their wrongful sentence and hopefully, the squad helping them find justice. Both Samberg and Beatriz confirmed in separate interviews that filming will begin late July for the upcoming season, which will air this September 26.
Andy Samberg loves his castmates very much
Since its inception, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" has followed the format set by "Parks and Recreation," which was also created by Mike Schur and Dan Goor. Andy Samberg once played a guest role in the Amy Poehler-led comedy, and the actor likened that working environment with the one he's in now with the FOX comedy.
He told Vulture that his work with the comedy series has "turned into something I really enjoy doing and creatively I’m very proud of and everyone who I work with there is super-nice. I know this sounds like a very political way of talking about it, but it’s very easy because it’s just real." The 38-year old actor also confirmed that "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 will begin shooting in late July.
Stephanie Beatriz opens up about her struggles with disordered eating
One character embroiled in the major cliffhanger during last season's finale is Det. Rosa Diaz, played by Stephanie Beatriz. The actress recently wrote an op-ed for InStyle, in which she detailed her struggles with "disordered eating." She began her piece by saying that the cast will be taking their "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 publicity photos later this month, which coincides with when they'll begin filming again.
The 36-year old Argentinian-born actress explained that those promotional photos are the same one's people "see online or on billboards of the cast rolling our eyes at our fellow cop/adorable lead of our show Jake Peralta, posed in front of cop cars, or pointing finger guns.
Those are all taken at one big photo shoot so the network has a bunch of publicity images to roll out for next season." She also detailed how she would sometimes get insecure about such shoots because of her issues with "disordered eating." Head over to Instyle.com to read more of her story.
