Marvel heroes will unite to battle their greatest enemy yet when “Avengers: Infinity War” hits theaters next year. The film will bring ten years’ worth of Marvel hero together to save the world from the evil hands of Thanos. Fans must brace themselves as the upcoming installment will not only bring epic battles but also reveal major changes to Marvel’s iconic characters.

Major role change in upcoming Marvel movie

Jonathan Hickman's Infinity comic which hit the market in 2013 introduced the Black Order, also called Cull Obsidian as Thanos’ loyal servants.

They stood beside the dark lord and played great roles in the destruction of planets. The upcoming movie installment will bring a major change in the role of these characters.

In the Infinity comic, Thanos’ ultimate goal was to find his son Thane. Each member of the Black Order was sent to a different location to find him. During Disney's annual D23 Expo, however, Marvel Studios revealed that in the anticipated movie, the Black Order will be the children of Thanos.

The major twist shall also bring a huge change in their mission. Being Thano’s sons themselves, the Black Order will most likely ditch their original quest. Instead, fans can expect them to pursue quests to hunt for Infinity Stones as their mad father Titan attempts to load up his Gauntlet.

The Black Order of Marvel Cinematic Universe shall be composed of Ebony Maw, Corvus Glave, Proxima Midnight, Supergiant, and the Black Dwarf.

The children of Thanos

The change in the role of the Black Order in “Avengers: Infinity War” gives greater meaning to Thano’s famous line in “Guardians of the Galaxy”. In one of the movie scenes, the Titan growls over Nebula who allegedly murdered his favorite daughter Gamora. The change of roles confirms that the cosmic siblings were not the only children of Thanos.

Thanos’ children are as dangerous as their Titan father. Ebony Maw is feared for his thinking ability, his most lethal weapon. As one of the members of the Black Order, Ebony Maw traveled to Earth to battle Doctor Strange.

The earth-based hero Strange is one of the smartest humans in the Infinity comic story.

Meanwhile, Corvus Glaive is married to Proxima Midnight. The Mad Titan ordered Corvus Glaive to attend Jean Grey School for Higher Learning while he was busy obliterating earth. Proxima Midnight was asked to journey to the lost city of Atlantis with the mission of retrieving the Infinity Stone from Namor. Black Dwarf was surprised with a huge uprising in his quest to Wakanda. "Avengers: Infinity War" is set to conquer the big screens in May 2018.
