"Avengers: Infinity War" is underway and it looks like the upcoming Marvel Comics movie will be full of characters. Of course, this is an Avengers movie, so expect the main Avengers members including Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man. There should be a number of newer characters, such as Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.
Now, it looks like there will also be a fan favorite villain from "Guardians Of The Galaxy." Karen Gillian played Nebula, the blue-skinned daughter of Thanos and sister of Guardians member Gamora.
She set out to Twitter and posted that she is on her way to film scenes for "Avengers: Infinity War."
The Return of Nebula to 'Avengers: Infinity War'
Nebula was the right-hand woman to the main villain in "Guardians of the Galaxy," Ronin. When Ronin attacked Xandar, she was one of his main soldiers in fighting the Guardians. However, as she showed in that movie, when things got tough, she was really only out for herself.
Director James Gunn ensured fans that this wasn't the last they would see of Nebula. Most people expect her to return for "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," but now it appears she will survive even that and be back for the next Avengers movie as well.
The Infinity War
As one of the adopted daughters of Thanos, Nebula swears her allegiance to the Mad Titan.
His overall goal is to steal all the Infinity Gems and then place them into the Infinity Gauntlet, which is a glove that will give him the ultimate power over everything. If Thanos gets this, he will have the power to shape the universe to his liking.
So far, four of the six Infinity Gems have been found in Marvel movies. The Space Stone was the Tesseract in "The Avengers." The Reality Stone was the Aether in "Thor: The Dark World." The Mind Stone was the object from Loki's specter that The Vision now wears in his head.
The Power Stone was the Orb from "Guardians of the Galaxy."
That leaves the Soul Stone and Time Stone. Rumor has it the Time Stone will be at the center of "Thor: Ragnarok."
'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' and the 'Infinity War'
Of course, Thanos is the main villain behind many attacks, including the alien invasion of Earth in "The Avengers" and the attack by Ronin in "Guardians of the Galaxy." The Guardians are the first line of defense and it is assured that the movie, which comes out this May, will help lead into the big battle with Thanos.
Drax (Batista) has already been announced as part of "The Avengers: Infinity War" and with Nebula now in the movie, could the rest of the Guardians be far behind? The next Avengers movie comes out on May 4, 2018.
