Amber Rose and Kanye West were once an item but they headed to splitsville in 2010. The model is now speaking out regarding the split and revealed that she wanted to kill herself after the break-up due to the bullying she received not only from West but also by bashers and trolls on the internet.
Rose sat down for an interview for the talk show “Everyday Struggle” of Complex. Many believed that Rose would cheat on West and she saw a lot of those comments when they were still dating. The two dated for two years before ending it in 2010. She said that the comments do not represent her because the 33-year-old never cheated on any of her boyfriends and she was the one who got heartbroken in her relationship with West.
Rose talks about the bullying she received from West
The break-up of Rose and West became one of the inspirations of the rapper for his Grammy winning album titled “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” Rose praised West’s work noting that it is a great part of history and hip-hop so she is happy to be part of it but she was not in great shape during that time. He also cleared that she was not the only inspiration for “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” although people thought West pertained to Rose and her life in many of the songs.
She noted that she was famous but was broke and cannot date anyone else after the break-up. Rose said that she came from a very poor family and did not even have her own bed.
When she dated West and had a very different lifestyle, she had to adjust after the break-up because she was famous and was followed by paparazzi although she was broke.
Rose also wanted to say something against West and the bashers but the rapper has such a voice that prevented her from doing that. Rose noted, “If I was going to kill myself, I would have done it during those times.”
Back in 2015, West had an interview on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” and said that he had to take 30 showers after dating Rose in order for him to date Kim Kardashian, who is now his wife.
By January 2016, West went on a Twitter rant against the former husband of Rose, Wiz Khalifa. West told Khalifa that he let a stripper trap him and he knows that Khalifa is mad every time he has to look at his child with Rose.
Rose fights back
Rose said during her interview on “Everyday Struggle” that she never said anything mean against West.
After the January Twitter rants of West against Khalifa and his family, Rose tweeted back directly to West saying, “are u made I’m not around to play in ur a**h*le anymore?” The hashtag “FingersInTheBootyA**B*tch” trended on Twitter.
West deleted the tweets but never responded to Rose. Months later, he appeared on the morning radio show of Steve Harvey and apologized to Khalifa for bringing the former couple’s child into the beef. West said he has respect for Khalifa and Rose as parents and every day he feels more deeply apologetic about what he said.
Mom-of-one took the high road
Rose said that she could have gotten a reality show just by being the girlfriend of West and could have also written a book about it.
However, she said she chose to take the high road and use the fame she got from being West’s girlfriend to make connections and establish herself.
She also believed that she was able to survive the struggles after her break-up from West because she is a strong-minded person. Rose said if it happened to someone else, they might not have survived.
West is yet to comment.
