Just three weeks after singer and former child star Aaron Carter left Twitter after fans body shamed him, the 29-year old brother of the Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter has been arrested for driving under the influence and possessing Marijuana. According to ABC News, Carter was with his girlfriend, Madison Parker, when he was arrested on Saturday night in Georgia. He was then charged with DUI and marijuana possession, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. The singer was slated to perform in Kansas City that night, but as per an official announcement on his now active Twitter account, the singer "will not make his set time" in the venue.

Carter struggled with health issues
Last month, Aaron Carter deactivated his Twitter account after he experienced online and real life body shaming from fans. PEOPLE reported in June that the singer overheard a woman commented that Carter looked like he had an "eating disorder" and "[looked] like I have cancer." The singer expressed his disgust at people who continued to comment on his appearance, saying, "They’re trolling me and causing me so much insecurities." Carter also explained that he had some medical conditions that he needed to address, writing, "I promise I’ll work on getting bigger physically I have medical issues I don’t want to discuss at this time."

The 29-year old Aaron Carter quit Twitter last month after the online bullying and trolling.
His girlfriend, Madison Parker, was quick to come to his defense, saying that they will take some time off to rest after Carter's shows. He did return to Twitter, however, as he had several shows lined up and often used the platform to promote his appearances.
Madison Parker and Aaron Carter experience 'transportation issues'
Aaron Carter was slated to perform in Kansas City on Saturday night but it seems that whoever was managing his Twitter account announced that "Due to transportation issues, Aaron will not make his set time tonight in Kansas City" and that the singer "apologizes to his fans" who were coming out to see him that night.
His management has not commented on his arrest at the moment.
