The recent Vanity Fair cover for the celebration of “Star Wars” 40th anniversary revealed a lot of hints and details about the upcoming “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” Aside from the photos in the magazine, its online publication gave fans a glimpse of the movie’s behind-the-scene videos.
One of the said clips seems to prove the leaked video that emerged in 2016 that has been filmed at Pinewood Studio. The talked-about scene is said to have a connection to Daisy Ridley’s, who plays the role of Rey, alleged intensive training inside a sensory deprivation tank in 2016.
Will Master Yoda appear for Rey?
According to Daily Express, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” might not reveal Rey’s real parents yet, but it might feature the time she finally gets connected to the Force – specifically to meet Master Yoda. The 2016 leaked video has a scene inside a cave that is filled with waist-high water while the behind-the-scene clip revealed by Vanity Fair showed Ridley filming on a set with the same settings.
Aside from that, there are also reports that there is an existing footage, which is shown to the Disney shareholders, where Rey is seen inside a dark place and being surrounded by floating lights. It has been known that this is a Force Ghost's way to reveal itself to someone.
In addition to the claim, there are also swirling rumors that a puppet bearing Master Yoda’s image is seen at Pinewood before.
A scene inside the dark cave of Master Yoda
Moreover, the “Star Wars” expert Mike Zeroh revealed that in 2016, there were hearsays that a set made of a cave with waist-high water will be built at Pinewood.
This was meant to be used for a scene in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." In fact, he even saw the texture of the cave in the background.
He also revealed that this is the set that Rey will use for a scene where she has to go inside the cave full of water, lie on her back, and will experience a lucid dream. Hence, the alleged training sessions of the 25-year-old actress inside a sensory deprivation tank are said to be her preparation for this sequence.
So, this just confirmed that the leaked clip and the behind-the-scene video from Vanity Fair are real and will definitely be seen in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” This, too, proves that the sequel trilogy is mirroring the events that already happened in the original trilogy. To recall, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) started his Jedi training with Master Yoda inside the dark cave on Dagobah in “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.”
