“Quantico” Season 3 will be back with a major change. According to reports, the show will have a new producer while two of its original stars have left the ABC series.
Yasmine Al Massri recently announced her departure from the drama thriller series on her social media page. Aside from Yasmine, Pearl Thusi is reportedly leaving the television series. Both won’t be seen when the third season starts at some point this year.
Al Massri’s goodbye
Yasmine Al Massri has played the roles of the twins Nimah and Raina in the previous seasons of the ABC hit show, “Quantico.”
The 38-year-old Lebanese-born American actress announced her departure on her Instagram account.
She posted her characters’ photo, along with a short message.
The “Crossbones” star gave her heartfelt gratitude to her fans who have loved both Nima and Reina. "Thank u for your love and support from all around the world,” she said.
Yasmine Al Massri even bragged that her roles are one of the much-loved characters in “Quantico.” However, the show’s second season had been her final bow. “Time to say good bye [sic]," she ended her post.
Thusi’s exit
Pearl Thusi, who played the role of Dayana Mampasi, also left the show and won’t be seen in “Quantico” Season 3.
The 29-year-old South African actress just recently came on board on the show’s second season. Her exit has been announced after Yasmine Al Massri’s announcement.
Aside from Priyanka Chopra, she was also a guest star on “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” on HBO.
Show’s creative changes
Aside from Yasmine Al Massri and Pearl Thusi, “Quantico” producer and creator Josh Safran said his final goodbye on the show.
ABC is now looking for a new producer for the show’s shortened third chapter.
The network only ordered 13 episodes for the television series compared to its usual 22 episodes. However, the screenwriter will still be the drama series’ consultant.
From 2015 and two seasons, the television series has had a number of creative changes. The show’s second season became its all-time low as it tried to shift its focus on politics, specifically to President Donal Trump, in hopes to attract more viewers.
Nevertheless, it still has a “decent DVR performer,” the Hollywood Reporter cites. Also, Priyanka Chopra’s appeal internationally and the show’s deal with Netflix play vital roles on its renewal.
“Quantico” Season 3 is expected to be released in the midseason on ABC.
