After seven seasons, fans of "Pretty Little Liars" were finally given the answers they had been seeking. While the answer seems obvious, it wasn't as easy to spot as the episodes aired. The last few days leading up to the Series Finale had dropped some major hints. Theories popped up everywhere, and one of them was spot on. As "Pretty Little Liars" fans soak in what they were just told, social media is going wild.
Who is A.D.?
After so many theories and various "A" components, the A.D. character was finally shown. Alex Drake (Troian Bellisario) was introduced to fans.
As it went back and showed viewers where she has been and how she was connected, there was a collective sigh. Spencer's twin is the one who has terrorized the liars. For a while, everyone assumed that the writers were going to make it Mona (Janel Parrish) again. She appeared to be everywhere and while she was working with A.D., she wasn't the one behind the lies and deception.
Fans saw several glimpses of Alex Drake throughout Season 7. One important moment was when Spencer saw Toby (Keegan Allen) and asked him for a goodbye kiss. There was something off there and now, fans know why. Also, when Ezra (Ian Harding) saw "Spencer" meeting with Wren (Julian Morris) it was incredibly awkward. There were some questions about why she was meeting with Wren knowing what she knew about him, but that quickly faded as Mona was brought into question again.
'Ezria' wedding
As expected, Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra got married on the "Pretty Little Liars" series finale. Hanna (Ashley Benson) announced she was pregnant with Caleb's (Tyler Blackburn) baby. They had been married at the courthouse because they thought Hanna was going to jail. Mona caused issues between them and now, they know all know the truth now.
The ending and wedding allowed for a possible spin-off, though there has been no confirmation of it yet.
With "Pretty Little Liars" over, there is a sense of loss among fans. It was hard for the actors to say goodbye as well. The girls have forged life-long friendships after spending seven years of their lives together filming this teenage drama.
Now that A.D. has been revealed as Alex Drake and the back story has come out, fans can begin to depict when she entered the show and how long she had been pulling the strings. Mona is now in charge and has Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) and Alex playing dollhouse in the basement of her store in France. If that isn't irony, what is?
