Netflix has reportedly canceled "Sense8" after it aired for two seasons. After airing its 23 episodes from different cities, the series has finally come to its end. The cancellation decision came in less a month after season 2 was released on May 5. The series is one of the latest shows which was added to the list of canceled shows from the network. To recall, for the previous months, Netflix has also canceled TV series like "The Get Down" which is known as one of the most expensive shows on the network.

Lengthy production

"Sense8" season 2 had faced lots of trouble before it aired on Netflix.

As per a report, the show is dealing with the big budget regarding lengthy production in both pre and post-production. In fact, the season 2 has come exactly two years after the first season has aired. Some of its cast's contract had expired, and Netflix had allowed them with its lapses.

Further, the network also tried to reach the core actors of the show. They were eyeing a potential season 3 of the series; however, it simply didn't happen. Some of the season 2 episodes were edited in winter, yet, the potential renewal of the series is simply not meant to happen.

The series dense mythology had never made "Sense8" a hit series on Netflix. Unlike other shows like "Stranger Things" and "Orange is the Ne Black," they were able to get the third renewal since devoted fans fought for them.

Netflix thanked cast and crew

Cindy Holland, Vice President for Netflix original content, has released an official statement recently. She revealed that they had been thankful for the passion and hard work that the series cast and crew had put forth. She added that "Sense8" is everything the network and fans have dreamed of.

The show is something bold, emotional, and unforgettable. However, it is only sad to know that the show has to be canceled from the network schedule.

Holland also added that she wanted to personally thank Lana, Lily, Joe and Grant for the brilliant vision for the series. In addition, the cast and crew had shown their best passion, commitment, and craftsmanship in order to deliver the best TV series to its audience.

To recall, the show had eight leading roles which starred Tony Onwumere, Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton, Max Riemelt, and Brian J. Smith. Some reports claim that "Sense8’s" massive budget may also be one of the reasons for its cancellation. As per the report, the production had spent $9 million per episode during its second season.
