Katy Perry was in the middle of a performance on stage when the crotch of her pants gave way leaving a hole in the area of her "hooha," or at least that's what Perry called it at the time. This happened just as she changed the lyrics to her song "Swish Swish," which many believe is a song penned about Taylor Swift.
'Swish Swish'... rip
If Perry's "Swish Swish" wasn't penned about Swift before, it sure sounds like it is now with the new lyric she added for last night's performance, suggests E Online. Perry has repeatedly denied the song was about Taylor Swift, but the change she made in the lyrics while performing Sunday night seemed tailored for Swift.
Katy had just ended her 96-hour live stream promoting her new album Witness, which she did from her house, according to the Metro News. Her next engagement was the Ramon C. Cortines High School for Performing Arts where 1,000 fans and contest winners got to see Katy perform live on stage.The picture that is seen in the Facebook post below shows Perry when she realizes she just ripped the crotch of her sparkling pants on stage. She did this while singing "Swish Swish" with the new lyric added.
Lyric switch
The line, "Don't come for me," was replaced with "God bless you on your journey, oh baby girl." This comes on the heels of Perry's interview with Natalie Morales from NBC, according to E Online News.
During that interview when Perry was pressed by Morales about the song "Swish Swish" and any affiliation it had with Taylor Swift, Perry said,
"All I need to say to her is I love her and God bless her on her journey."
Her lyric change was very close to this remark, bringing the buzz to the forefront once again that the song was penned about Swift.
It was while Perry was singing this that she did some dance moves that ripped the crotch of her costume.
Undercarriage had underwear protection
Instead of trying to hide the fact that she was now sporting a hole exposing her undercarriage, she took to the mic to let her audience know all about it. She said she ripped a hole in her pants and it is right near her "hooha." She was quick to toss out the fact that she was wearing underwear, telling the crowd, "so don't worry." She said had no qualms about saying that she "wants everyone to brace themselves" because she's ripped a hole in the crotch of her pants.
Perry took it even further by saying she needed to bring this out in the open because the Internet has a way of seeing everything, so she thought she'd beat them to the scoop. She said to the crowd, that was roaring in cheers by now, that she was "trying to be cool and I did that dance and now I realize I was not cool, especially when this comes out in pictures." She also said she's only human and asked the crowd not to look.
