It is undeniable that “The Winds Of Winter” is considered as one of the much-anticipated novels today despite its countless delays. Now, rumors are rife that fans’ demands could possibly be the main reason why George RR Martin stopped writing the novel for a while.
Martin tired of fans asking about ‘TWOW’ book?
George RR Martin revealed in a blog post that he is not the type of writer who gives insignificant updates and details of the book that he is currently writing. According to the veteran author, he does not want to give fans high hopes and that he wants to avoid further rumors about “The Winds of Winter” book, Korea Portal shared.
"I do post about Ice & Fire and Game of Thrones whenever there is actual news to report," the “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series writer divulged. Martin added that he is prioritizing the sixth book of the “ASOIAF” than the “Wild Cards” series.
In another blog post, George RR Martin has admitted that he wants to write more “Wild Cards” books to revisit some on his favorite characters such as Lohengrin, Hoodoo Mama, and Popinjay, the Turtle. However, the 68-year-old writer stated that he would like to finish “The Winds of Winter” first before proceeding to write new novels, Blastr reported.
However, Bustle claimed that fans’ insistent demand could possibly be hindering GRRM to finish the “The Winds of Winter” novel.
According to the news outlet, the New Mexican writer had already gotten tired of fans asking the same questions over and over again.
George RR Martin, then, reminded his avid followers that quite a few chapters of the imminent sixth “A Song of Ice and Fire” installment have already been publishing on his personal blog site but fans are still not satisfied.
‘TWOW’ Arriving In 2018?
While GRRM has yet to announce the official release date of “The Winds of Winter” book, speculations are already claiming that it would be released next year. According to Christian Post, it is now impossible for the author to publish the book due to his hectic schedule.
As a matter of fact, George RR Martin had only launched the StageCoach Foundation last month.
While fans think that the newly-established organization could help young filmmakers to improve their talent in producing movies, it may also mean that the veteran writer would have lesser time to focus on writing the much-awaited book.
Aside from that, George RR Martin is also busy writing the scripts of the five upcoming “Game of Thrones” spinoff. According to the “A Clash of Kings” author, he hired five writers to help him finish all scripts for the HBO series. Stay tuned for more updates!
