Things didn't go as planned for Brad Pitt after his estranged wife reportedly took the kids out of town over the weekend. A Hollywood Life report claimed the 53-year-old actor has been looking forward to celebrating Father's Day with his six kids. In fact, the A-lister did some minor renovations to make his children feel at home whenever they visit him.

"He's super bummed!"

An affiliate of Pitt told the publication that the actor was disappointed when Angelina Jolie left Los Angeles on Saturday. Although he is not complaining about their sudden out-of-town trip, the "Meet Joe Black" actor was reportedly hoping to celebrate Father's Day by doing some outdoor activities with his children and spoil them with new toys.

"He was even working on his place to make it special for them, adding a new skateboard ramp," the source exlcusively told the publication. "Although their relationship has improved, communication continues to be a struggle at times."

Earlier reports claimed Jolie and the kids, Vivienne (8), Knox (8), Pax (13), Maddox (15), Zahara (12), and Shiloh (11), were photographed at the Los Angeles International Airport. The "Maleficent" actress channeled an army green coat matched with a pair of black boots and aviators. She was spotted walking hand-in-hand with Vivienne, who was hiding her face from paparazzis.

The 42-year-old actress refused to make a comment on where they were headed, but rumor has it that the family (excluding Pitt) was headed to Ethiopia to celebrate Zahara's adoption anniversary.

Quality time with kids

Contrary to these claims, E! Online reported that some of his kids paid a visit to Pitt's house to spend some quality time with their dad on Saturday morning. It further stated that the children were at his flat for several hours before they left Los Angeles with the actress. Neither Pitt nor Jolie has commented on the issue.

The "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" actors announced their breakup after 11 years of marriage last year. The "Salt" actress reportedly cited that the divorce was "for the health of the family," while the "Fight Club" alum explained that their primary concern is their children's well-being.

Jolie has previously said that Pitt will remain a family despite their decision to call it quits.

She and her estranged husband also promised to co-parent their six children after the divorce. Aside from that, both parties refused to talk about the reason for their breakup and asked the public to respect their privacy.
