There is no doubt that #Gal Gadot is the perfect actress to portray the role of Wonder Woman, as she embodies some of the strength and brilliance of said character. Some were definitely in shock when it was reported that the Israeli actress was five months pregnant when she was shooting the film. It was reported that Gadot decided to go back to Leavesden to reshoot some of the unfinished scenes in the movie. During that time, her baby bump was not noticeable, as the production team tried to cut the front part of her suit. Reports revealed that her costume was replaced with a bright green cloth in front, which would help the graphics department edit her figure during post-production.
Gal Gadot’s professionalism
Despite her situation, Gal Gadot was pumped to work, run, and execute some of her fight scenes as a consummate professional. In an interview, she revealed that everything went seamlessly and looks great when it comes to close up shots. However, she admitted that Wonder Woman looks like she is pregnant with Kermit the Frog in wide shots, stating:
“On wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog.”
Patty Jenkins on Gal Gadot
Gadot’s dedication to her work was well received, and received positive feedback from the team behind “Wonder Woman," including Patty Jenkins. She revealed that the actress' behavior and the way that she carried herself during that time was a great reminder that she truly belonged in the entertainment industry.
Jenkins also revealed that Gadot did not complain about the things that they had her do during filming. As she remembers, the actress stood on one foot while shooting in a freezing cold location without complaints or hesitation. The director further explained that the Hollywood star did it every day despite her condition at that time.
'Wonder Woman' producer Chuck Roven and his POV on Gadot
Other than the director, the film’s producer Chuck Roven also applauded the professionalism of Gal Gadot. Despite her pregnancy, the actress was able to portray the fierceness and the aggressiveness of Wonder Woman brilliantly. Not just that, Roven also said that despite his many years in the film industry, this was his first time seeing such determination.
“Part of what we were doing was augmenting some of the final action piece. She couldn’t do a huge amount of physical activity but she was being aggressive. She still had to be fierce. That was special. I’ve been doing this for a while but I’ve never had that experience before, said Roven -- according to EW.
