Starting with "Toy Story" in 1995, Pixar animation studio has consistently banged out innovative, and emotionally resilient movies and the latest one in their addition is "cars 3'' which had its release on June 16, 2017, in the United States.

This film is the eighteenth feature film from the Pixar, and it is the third installment in the "Cars" franchise. Unlike its predecessors, this edition is more thoughtful and less frantic, making it a pleasant outing which upheld the legacy of Pixar.

Brian Fee directs this flick, and it stars the voices of renowned actors including Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Armie Hammer, Nathan Fillion and Kerry Washington.

Walt Disney is distributing this movie all across the US.

A cliched plot treated with freshness and finesse

Just like the previous animation movies from the studio, "Cars 3" handles a cliched plot, where the lead character sets out to prove himself in a world which is ruled by greed, betrayal, and selfishness.

In the film, the lead hero, the Lightning McQueen, the legendary Piston Cup veteran is still racing, but his dominance is now challenged by a group of newcomers led by the clever Jackson Storm, whose sleek design and innovative power compel our hero to a permanent retirement. The story offers no unexpected twists and turns in its proceedings, and most of the events which we witness are told many times in sports film.

But what makes this movie unique is its crisp visuals and the touching emotional story of McQueen.

Owen Wilson's brilliant performance

Owen Wilson's voice is undoubtedly heavenly, and with his stylized voice modulation, he has immortalized many characters.

When it comes to "Cars 3", the American actor has nicely delivered the voice of a veteran champion with shades of insecurity ruling in his liners.

Another major attraction of this film is its mind-blowing set pieces; loaded with the smash and crash dirt track race, dazzling skidding scenes and jaw dropping mud racing sequences.

Randy Newmann's music too plays its crucial role in elevating the mood of the movie.

Estimated box-office collection

"Cars 3" is competing with "Rough Night" and "All Eyes on Me" at the United States box-office. Considering the positive reviews surrounding the film and the number of screens it has been released, it may gross more than $60 million in its opening weekend. The release of "Cars 3" will also drastically affect the collection figures of "Wonder Woman" which is now enjoying a stupendous run at the box-office.
