Unlike its previous season, the details of “American Horror Story” Season 7 are now emerging. Although information is scarce, at least, it is not shrouded in secrecy compared to the show's sixth season.
It has been said that the next installment of the horror-drama television show will be about the election in 2016 that made Donald Trump a winner. Unlike its past chapters, it will be a modern-day story based on what happened recently.
The election night
The show’s creator Ryan Murphy told E! News that he doesn’t have a title yet for “American Horror Story” Season 7.
However, they are about to begin their filming in June. The 51-year-old screenwriter believes that their new story will be more interesting for a lot of people as it will be about the “election that just went through. “
As the director explained, the first 10 minutes of the show’s first episode will be shown in a “very eerie macabre way on election night. Something awful is about to happen in the lives of the television series’ new characters on this night as they are all trying to digest what just happened. “Which in itself was a horror story,” he said. He even described it as a horror story ahead of another horror story.
The 2016 Presidential election
With that, a lot of people think that the return of Sarah Paulson is to play the role of Hillary Clinton.
“I wanted to clarify that that is not true,” Ryan Murphy told E! News.
He explained that “American Horror Story” has always been about allegory, thus the November presidential election is an allegory. In fact, he considered this to be their “jumping off point.” The show, too, has always been a great deal of fun when it features zeitgeist and the current happenings in the world.
As the new installment will be about the 2016 election, it will be indeed scary for a lot of people. In fact, he believes that fans will be far more interested in this new season compared to other previous chapters. Aside from that, the show has a lot to offer everyone.
A crossover of two seasons
There are also swirling rumors that “American Horror Story” Season 7 will be a combination of two seasons, but, in another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Murphy confirmed that there will be a crossover but that won’t happen in the seventh chapter.
“It’s not going to be next season,” he said. The intersections of the two seasons will be about the “Murder House” and “Coven,” which, as he teased, will be very bizarre. However, the producer has said before that they will be exploring the characters, mythologies, and deeper histories of “Freak Show” in the upcoming new installment.
