"American Idol" just came to an end, and the show has already been rebooted. There is a lot of speculation about what will be happening. It has already been revealed that Ryan Seacrest is too busy to join a show like this one again. He is also living across the country now. Now, Simon Cowell is speaking out and sharing his thoughts on if he will join the show or not.

What did Simon Cowell have to say?

Simon Cowell actually doesn't want any part of doing "American Idol" again. He has his reasons, though. Simon is now a dad and busy with that, but this isn't the reason he is staying away from the show.

Simon shared saying, "I was asked to do it, and the answer is no. I have no interest. My memories are when we first started. It was a different time with Randy [Jackson], Ryan [Seacrest] and Paula [Abdul]. You can't re-create that." "American Idol" did change judges over the years and it was never the same as those few first seasons with that group of judges.

Who will be on the new "American Idol"?

Honestly, it is going to be interesting to see who they get for the new "American Idol." There was some talk about Kelly Clarkson maybe joining the show, but she actually decided to join "The Voice" as a coach for an upcoming season, so there is no way she will be doing "American Idol." Ryan Seacrest has moved on.

Right now, it sounds like it is a pretty open slate on who could end up on the show. If someone big is interested, they would have a pretty good chance of getting on. Rumors are they are looking at Carrie Underwood, but she is a mom and busy with her career so nobody knows if she would be interested in doing this.

Simon Cowell was part of the show from 2002 up until 2010.

The show came to an end in April of 2016 but is already being brought back again. This is causing some speculation that they might have made this decision a bit too soon. Normally a show doesn't come back like this after less than a year. It will be on ABC this time around.

Nigel Lythgoe, an executive producer on the show, spoke to Variety about the show coming back and said, "They got their wish, but it feels a little too soon to bring it back." This could either do amazing or totally crash and burn.

The fans are just going to have to wait and see who they get for the show and how it does this time around.
