Fans of "Shameless" already knew that when Emmy Rossum's character cleans up, she cleaned up nicely. The "Shameless" star turns into an elegant beauty, but that is when Emmy is in the role of Fiona Gallagher. In real-life, Emmy looks almost angelic without even trying, but put a white, off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera wedding gown on Emmy and she turned into an angel ready for her wings as she took her walk down the aisle on Sunday.

Not a quick, whirlwind romance

Emmy and her husband have been dating for years and they've been engaged since August of 2015, so this is not one of the typical romances out of Hollywood that's had a solid two weeks of dating before turning into a wedding. The two tied the knot in New York City where white roses lined the stairs as Emmy and Sam made their way out of the Central Synagogue for the first time as husband and wife on Sunday afternoon, reports People Magazine.

'Shameless' meets 'Mr. Robot' guest list

The guest list looked like "Shameless" meets "Mr. Robot" -- and then some, with the stars of both shows in attendance.

William H. Macy, who plays Frank Gallagher, the alcoholic patriarch of the Gallagher family, was there. Robert Downey Jr. and Hillary Swank were in attendance, along with the stars from "Mr. Robot," Rami Malek, Christian Slater, and Carly Chaikin.

Hand-in-hand

After saying their vows and their "I-do's," Emmy and Sam were the first people out of the church where a crowd of fans gathered to wish the couple a happy wedding day. As they walked hand-in-hand, the crowd cheered for the newlyweds.

Met on movie set

Sam and Emmy met back in 2014 when he was the director of the romantic drama/comedy, "Comet." Emmy was the star of his movie and soon became the star of his life. The two have been together since that day.

Romance in a ring

Emmy seems like the romantic type, as her engagement ring means so much to her, not only because it was given to her by Sam, but because it is almost a century old. The ring came out of 1920 Paris. It is from the archival collection of Neil Lane, who is known as the "jeweler to the stars." He not only has his own creations that he sells, but he collects historical rings and Emmy's was from that collection.

The backstory of her ring is not known, but she loves to think about who might have worn that ring throughout its history and what that ring meant to its original owner. Emmy stars in the Showtime show "Shameless," which is about an extremely dysfunctional family that is held together by Emmy's character, Fionna.

She is the eldest of the six Gallagher kids.

Curl your toes

It is a show that can curl your toes at times because of the things that are seen and heard from the characters. From Fionna's escapades to her little sister and her new baby, the family has everything imaginable stacked up against them, but they survive.

Despite the father laying on the bathroom floor passed out and the youngest preschool-aged child dipping his toothbrush into the toilet, the Gallaghers are a family to be admired. Not because of their antics, but because of the love they have for each other that gets them through.

They're just 'Shameless'!

From Fionna leaving cocaine and her baby brother almost dying after getting his hands on it, to the oldest son having an affair with his married college professor, these folks may appear like the dregs of society, but appearances aren't everything, as "Shameless" is more about how the family's love keeps them together and happy.
