"Outlander" Season 3 is still a few months away, and teasers have circulated the web to excite fans even more. Production is almost done, and Executive Producer Matthew Roberts took to Twitter to share that he is already done with the last script of the coming season. The historical time travel series is based on Gabaldon's novels. The show is very popular, and has been approved for a fourth season already. It tells the story of Claire Randall, a World War II nurse who finds herself transported back to 18th century Scotland where she meets a Highlander whom she falls in love with.
Diana Gabaldon recently returned from South Africa where cast and crew were filming, and she talked about their experience, and there's one very interesting fact that she shared about lead actor Sam Heughan.
Sam got seasick while filming
Gabaldon said that at one point, while Heughan was reading his script, he was looking very dishevelled, and told the author that he was going to be seasick. The actor, who plays Jamie Fraser in the series, said that they had given him egg whites tinted green, which had "the most disgusting vanilla essence in it." Heughan said that he had to hold it in his mouth until it was time to throw up.
This specific scene that Heughan mentioned had to be shot over and over again, and during the sixth take, the actor looked at the glass of egg whites and said, "‘F**k my life." Gabaldon jokingly concluded that acting is not glamorous at all.
'Outlander' Season 3 may be longer
We are still about four months away before "Outlander" Season 3 gets released. There's no specific date as to when in September the new season will air, but the show has teased that the long wait is going to be worth it. Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz, said that they know that fans have had to wait a little longer, but it's important to allow the production the time and number of episodes needed to tell the story of "Voyager" in its entirety.
The third book will be the basis of "Outlander" Seaosn 3, and the official synopsis says that the upcoming season will pick up after Claire travels through time to return to her 1948 life. She is also pregnant with Jamie's child, and she struggles to live her 20th century life. However, she must find a way to go back to the love of her life. When she finds Jamie, though, he won't be the same. How will they make up for all those lost years?
