Rob Dyrdek and Christoper "Big Black" Boykin were one of MTV's best reality duos but sadly, the latter has died. According to a new report, Boykin passed away at the age of 45 years after becoming a household name.
"The other half of Rob Dyrdek's hit MTV show 'Rob & Big'" -- has died," TMZ confirmed to readers on May 9. As the outlet explained, Boykin's rep revealed the former television star passed away this morning but did not reveal his cause of death.
As fans of the series will recall, Boykin was one of Dyrdek's closest friends and also acted as his bodyguard during filming on the their MTV reality show, which aired on the network from 2006 to 2008.
Boykin also appeared on MTV's "Fantasy Factory" years later.
While most reality shows have a concept, Dyrdek and Boykin simply chronicled their random activities throughout the years-long run of "Rob & Big." As TMZ recalled, the funny pair embarked on a number of outrageous adventures, including their efforts to install an ATM and break a Guinness World Record. They were also seen exorcising their house and capturing people with a net gun.

Although Dyrdek and his co-star appeared to be quite close for the entirety of their reality show, TMZ claimed the men were actually at odds during production.
As the outlet explained, their relationship became strained as they shot the show years ago and later, Dyrdek opened up about their feud.
At the time of his passing, Boykin did not appear to be in touch with Dyrdek, but according to TMZ, they did recently patch things up and Boykin eventually posted a throwback photo of the two of them from the show's heyday.

Dyrdek and his now-wife, Bryiana Noelle Flores, became engaged in February 2015 and tied the knot later that year. As fans of the skateboarder may recall, Dyrdek popped the question to Flores during a visit to Disneyland. One year later, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together, a baby boy, and in September of last year, Dyrdek's son was born.
“Say hello to Kodah Dash Dyrdek aka Dash aka KD aka K-Dash aka Dah-Da,” Dyrdek wrote on Instagram on September 10.
Christopher "Big Black" Boykin, who previously served in the United States Navy, is survived by a nine-year-old daughter.
