Archie Andrews is single-handedly raised by his father Fred after his mother left them when he was 13 years old. Fans of "Riverdale" say that although he appears to be conflicted at times, deep inside, he really is a good guy. The upcoming season may surprise viewers because spoilers say that we are going to see Archie's dark side.

"Riverdale" season 1 finale showed Fred being shot in the stomach by an alleged robbery at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. He bleeds out, and viewers are not sure if he is going to survive. However, Jughead narrated that it was not a robbery, but a planned act of violence.

The motive is not yet known, but expect Archie to take matters into his hands to find out.

Will Archie move to Chicago with his mom?

Some say that if Fred dies, Archie may just have to move to Chicago to live with his mom in "Riverdale" season 2. But many fans say that that is highly unlikely because Archie is the main character of the series. A lot of viewers think that Fred is going to live, but it won't be easy, prompting Archie to search for the person who did this to his father. Now if he dies, Archie is going to be in a much worse state.

During a previous interview with TVGuide.com, actor KJ Apa said that Archie will want vengeance and that he will go to all ends to get to the bottom of what happened to his dad.

He also teased that people are going to see a "really different side" to Archie.

Cheryl Blossom will show a much darker side, too

Archie Andrews is not going to be the only one who will go dark in "Riverdale" season 2." We saw how Cheryl Blossom attempted to take her life after learning that her father killed his brother, Jason.

The previous season's finale showed how crushed Cheryl was when she learned about her family's secret. After Archie saved her from suicide, she is now a changed person, full of vengeance and a much darker persona.

The first act towards Cheryl's renewed character was setting her palatial house on fire. Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told Entertainment Weekly that things would not go easy for Cheryl in season 2.

Aguirre-Sacasa said that there are going to be a lot of things that she will unpack about the fact that her father is a murderer, and that it's just going to be her and Penelope now.

Cheryl will now have nothing to lose. Aguirre-Sacasa said that it's like she is baptized in a river of ice, and steps out like a Phoenix. The EP also teased that Cheryl is going to be much more powerful. "Riverdale" season 2" is set to be released this fall.
